About Malt
MALT Bar & Deli is set in the heart of the historic town of Sherburn-In-Elmet in North Yorkshire and is the brainchild of local couple Clare and Ant Eckford. Named after their four children – Molly, Anna, Lucy and Tom, it is a real passion project for them both, bringing a place to meet the needs of the changing community and to enhance our small but vibrant town centre.
Situated on the site of the former Fultons frozen foods store, we bring you locally roasted coffee, cakes and brunch style food during the day and transform into a fabulous bar in the evenings. We also operate as a deli – fine cheeses and charcuterie to takeaway or eat in on our sharing platters, which includes a Yorkshire platter featuring Starkeys award winning pork pies! Stone baked pizzas, filled cheesy sourdough rolls and our fabulous toasties mean there is always something to suit everyone.
Wines have been hand picked by Clare and Ant and our cocktail menu changes seasonally. We have a small selection of high quality draught beers as well as top level spirits to make your experience extra special.
We offer live music every Saturday evening, and provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy. We are passionate about local so wherever possible we have sourced things locally from our food and drink to our eco frindly cleaning products and everything in between.
Our upstairs events space has been created to be as flexible an area as possible so whether you want to work, hold a meeting, event or private party we can meet your needs.
We also ahve a small but pefectly formed outdoor seating area which has been a hit with dog owners, especially with QR code ordering available outside so you can sit with yoir pooch (or indeed your pushchair) and know your food and drink order will be delivered to you outside come rain or shine.

Coffee roasted just up the road, wine supplied locally and cheese and charcuterie from near and far, we are passionate about providing a high quality experience using local suppliers wherever possible to ensure whether you eat and drink with us at the venue, or choose to take our products away to enjoy at home, you know you are being service the best.
